Our Mission & Impact

At I CARE Maternity Home, we are committed to supporting all mothers throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journey by providing education, advocacy, and access to essential resources.

While we proudly serve all families, we are intentional about addressing the maternal health disparities that disproportionately impact Black women. Black mothers are at least four times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications—a reality rooted in systemic inequities, barriers to care, and gaps in culturally responsive support.

We exist to be a part of the solution.

Through community-based workshops, hands-on support, and trusted referrals, we empower mothers with the knowledge, confidence, and resources needed to advocate for themselves and their babies. We believe that no mother should navigate pregnancy alone, and every family deserves the opportunity to experience a safe, healthy birth and postpartum journey.

“My doula, Ms, Toni, in particular has consistently invested so much care into me and my family. She helped me access resources I was unaware were available to me like transportation to my prenatal appointments, WIC, a free breast pump from my insurance, and rental assistance. She taught me how to safely sleep my babies on their backs and she ensured I was educated on how to properly install and buckle their car seats. When I needed baby clothing, diapers, and postpartum supplies Ms.Toni gladly provided those to me with an open heart.”
